Thumb Sucking

November 26, 2008

These days it is so difficult to get a picture of Micah without his thumb in his mouth!  From the time he came home from the hospital he wouldn’t take a paci.  I have tried several times but he gags and just doesn’t like it.  Some people say we are lucky because we don’t have to worry about always having the paci with us, cleaning them, putting it back in in the middle of the night, etc., but I wonder what is going to happen when he is too old to suck on that thumb?  I hope that he just stops on his own but I have had many elementary school children in my classrooms who still suck their thumbs.  I guess we will wait and see what happens.  In the meantime we get a lot of comments about how cute he is with his thumb in his mouth.

Happy Birthday Dad!

This was from several days ago but I finally uploaded the pictures.  We had a little party over at our house after church one Sunday for my dad’s birthday.  It was a surprise party and turned out good!

Crazy hair and sock day!

November 25, 2008

Friday was crazy hair and sock day at Sierra’s school.  It took a long time to do her hair but it was worth it!  I wish I would have gotten a few more pictures but she was late for school that day.

Micah’s Growth

November 20, 2008

Based on the data you submitted, your child falls into the following percentiles:

Length = below percentile 5
Weight = below percentile 5
Head Circumference = below percentile 5

I typed in Micah’s measurments as of now for 6 months and that is what it says.  He is only about 13 1/2 pounds.   I figured he was still pretty small.  I have to keep in mind that he was 7 weeks early!  We will see what the doctor says when we go in for Micah’s 6 month visit and shots.

If I type his information in for his “adjusted age” I get the following.

Based on the data you submitted, your child falls into the following percentiles:

Length = between percentile 25 and 50
Weight = between percentile 10 and 25
Head Circumference = between percentile 10 and 25

Neighborhood Fun!

Caleb and his buddies having fun one day!  The truck was Zach’s from across the street!  Caleb was riding with Nathan from next door.  Caleb was so happy he couldn’t get the smile off his face after his ride!

No more knives on the counter!!!!  We keep one of those knife blocks on the counter and yesterday we had a little accident that could have been MUCH worse.  I was in ordering something on the computer (and talking to my mom on the phone) and Mike was rocking the baby.  I heard Caleb scream and Mike told me to go check on him.  When I went in the kitchen he was on the counter with a knife in his hand and blood all over.  Apparently he had pushed the stool over to the counter and climbed up.  He had a full size carrot in one hand and I think he was trying to cut it up.  He had missed and cut his palm with the knife.  Of course at first we didn’t know how bad it was because he was bleeding but we soon realized that thankfully it was only a small slice.  I am so thankful that he didn’t fall off the counter with a knife or cut himself much worse.  So the knives are now way up in a cupboard where he can’t get to them.

Best Friends Having Fun!!!

November 7, 2008

Amber and I dressed up as convicts for Halloween and we got this great picture!  I guess Micah had to go to jail with me!  lol  Next year we have to get our husbands to buy cop outfits!

Here is a picture of Sierra and her best friend Kayla!

We had a fun filled Halloween this year.  Ryan and Amber brought over pizza and then we headed off to  trunk or treat at a church nearby.  Later that evening a boy in Sierra’s class at school had a haunted house at his home and the girls thought that was really fun.  They were brave… was Amber and I that were screaming!!!!

Micah shortly after he came home.

November 5, 2008

I took this picture of Micah shortly after he came home.  The colors I used were all wrong and so I hadn’t done much with the picture.  My cousin Lisa however does great things with Photo Shop and she turned this picture into something I can be proud of……well except I didn’t think to iron the background!

Thanks Lisa
